Last Thursday I hosted a seniors forum for my older constituents in Kwinana, and I can tell you they were as angry as me to hear about the Morrison government's cashless welfare card for age pensioners.

Delegates, Labor in Government has been the most effective force for good in our nation’s history.
 
I say that without qualification or hesitation.
 
Almost every significant reform that has built Australia and progressed our national interest was conceived, developed, implemented, and defended by Labor governments.

I rise today to speak about Medicare and the terrible way the Morrison government treats some of the most vulnerable Australians.

I am not a Victorian, but I stand with all Victorians in the midst of this latest COVID outbreak. If this government had taken seriously its responsibility to vaccinate Australians, more Victorians would now be vaccinated and they might well not be in the midst of their fourth lockdown.

Today I would like to talk about the unacceptable mobile phone coverage in my electorate of Brand, particularly in the suburbs of Safety Bay and Baldivis.

I rise today to ask a question on behalf of all Western Australians: where the bloody hell is Scott Morrison?

Earlier this month, accompanied by Labor leader Anthony Albanese, I visited BHP's Kwinana nickel refinery in my electorate of Brand. Kwinana is where I was born, and the nickel refinery has been operating there for about 50 years—just a couple of years more than me. I have driven up and down Patterson Road in Rockingham countless times during my life.
