With $20,000 in funding secured for new green covers, Warnbro Bowling Club members are looking forward to putting on their whites and playing all year round – regardless of the weather.                                          

Supported by local Member of Federal Parliament, Madeleine King MP, the club successfully applied to the Stronger Communities Programme for assistance in building roof covers over two playing greens.

Ms King said the club approached her about the need for the covers so that members could get out and play in rain and shine, as well as encouraging new members to take up the sport.

“These new covers will offer both shade from the sun and protection from the rain, allowing more people to enjoy playing bowls more often,” Ms King said.

“I am very pleased to have supported this great project which benefits this fantastic club and the many people who play bowls in Warnbro.”

Warnbro Bowling Club deputy president Bill Baker thanked Ms King for her continued support of the club.
