WOMEN'S EXPO OFF TO A BRIGHT START

Infectious laughter rang out as the Kaa-kaa Middars (“Kookaburra Dancers”) entertained the crowd at the 2018 Rockingham Women’s Health and Wellbeing Expo at Westerly Family Centre.

The free expo was held on Tuesday (4 September) and featured 20 stalls providing health resources, advice, referrals and appointments and the opportunity to interact with health professionals in a “one-stop” shop location.

Madeleine King, the federal member for Brand, covering Rockingham and Kwinana, officially opened the event and congratulated the organisers.  – Westerly, Breast Screen WA, South Coastal Health and Community Services and South Metropolitan TAFE. The event was also sponsored by the City of Rockingham.

She later met with the pre-primary to Year Two dancers of the Cooloongup Primary School who were dressed as Indigenous animals and performed the “wombat hokey pokey”.
