Local Federal Member of Federal Parliament Madeleine King is stepping up her campaign to pressure the Federal Government to improve the substandard telecommunications services on offer in Baldivis.
Ms King has called on the community to sign her petition calling for immediate Government action to improve the dismal internet and mobile phone services in the fast-growing suburb.
“I wrote to the Minister for Communications the Hon Mitch Fifield back in August, followed up with his office in September and now it is October and I still have not had a response to my concerns about the inferior internet and mobile phone coverage in Baldivis,” Ms King said.
“I have had the Shadow Minister for Communications Michelle Rowland meet with residents affected by these issues and am now calling on people to sign my petition which I will present to the Federal Parliament.
“With one of the fastest-growing populations in the country, it is appalling how Baldivis residents are being denied internet and mobile phone access.
“Residents can drop by my office to sign the petition or can call 9527 9377 for a copy to sign.”
Ms King’s office is located at 1/15 Kent Street, Rockingham.
