This $1,837,800 election commitment will boost Kwinana’s urban forest by planting trees throughout parks, street scapes and public open spaces across the local government area.
The extra trees will encourage the use of parks, tackle urban heat, support local wildlife and create healthier neighbourhoods.
This election commitment will also support the City of Kwinana’s Urban Forest Strategy, which is aiming to boost overall canopy cover by 3 per cent.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
Quotes attributable to Federal Member for Brand, Madeleine King:
“Trees help homes keep cooler in summer, provide habitat for black cockatoos and encourage people to use our wonderful local parks.
“A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will support the City of Kwinana’s Urban Forest Strategy with 1,800 extra trees.”
