I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news that a woman died from wounds after having sought, and receiving, help from customers and staff at the Dome Café Rockingham, next door to my former office.
This is simply terrible. Such deadly violence should not happen. It is tragic this woman lost her life doing her job, helping people in need.
On behalf of my staff, I offer our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the person who has died. Our thoughts are also with the staff of the Kent St Dome Café, who are genuinely lovely people, doing their job and who did all they could to help.
The communities of Rockingham and Kwinana are dependent on the strength and kindness of its members, as exemplified by the actions of the Dome Café staff.
