More than 66,000 workers in the local community will be up to $928 better off thanks to Labor’s bigger, better and fairer income tax cut, new data reveals.

Local Member of Federal Parliament Madeleine King said Labor puts workers first and would nearly double the tax cuts offered by the Liberals.

“Malcolm Turnbull’s Liberal Government is putting big business and the banks ahead of workers to the tune of an $80 billion tax windfall,” Ms King said.

“They are slashing funding to schools and education, and slashing pensioner income, to fund a massive tax handout to those who need it least.”

“Under Labor, working and middle class Australians will pay less tax – because a tax cut for families is more important than Malcolm Turnbull’s $80 billion tax giveaway to big business and the banks.”

Ms King said Labor was committed to deliver proper funding to schools and hospitals and was not afraid to put people first.
