The Albanese Government is providing more than $200,000 for two childcare centres in Kwinana to help them stay open and accessible.

Goodstart Early Learning Parmelia will receive $140,000 in sustainability funding, while Wellard Early Learning Centre and Out of School Care early learning services will receive $70,000 for capital works projects.

The funding is being provided through the Government’s Community Child Care Fund (CCCF), helping address barriers to participation in early childhood education and care.

These services are some of the more than 430 early childhood education and care services, in disadvantaged, regional and remote communities across Australia, that have been offered a share in $80 million of funding.

More than 380 services will receive sustainability support to help them remain open, with 90 services receiving capital support to undertake important modification work or expand to create more early childhood education and care places.

Goodstart Early Learning Parmelia Centre Director Stephanie Young said this funding will help her early learning service support families within the local area by enhancing children’s developmental outcomes.

"This is welcomed funding that helps our staff amplify our high-quality learning environment and sustainable services for our children and families." Ms Young said.

Families accessing these services will also benefit from the Government’s Cheaper Child Care reforms, which have made early childhood education more affordable for more than 1 million families across Australia.

Federal Member for Brand Madeleine King said the Albanese Government is ensuring children across Kwinana and Rockingham can access the transformational benefits of early childhood education and care.

“Access to early childhood education and care is vital to ensuring families can make the choice that is best for them, with over 6,000 families in Kwinana and Rockingham currently benefitting from our Cheaper Child Care reforms,” Ms King said.
