Local Member of Federal Parliament Madeleine King has called on local people and organisations to get their applications in for the 2017 Volunteer of the Year Awards with nominations closing on Friday 10 March.

Ms King said the awards were an opportunity for the many people across the Cities of Rockingham and Kwinana who gave their time to make the community a better place to be recognised for their hard work.

“There are many nomination categories, including in the areas of volunteers, managers, organisations and businesses,” Ms King said.

“This is a great opportunity to nominate individuals or organisations to show their work is appreciated.

“Without the support many of the services and programs which so many people rely on could not be provided.”
