An Albanese Labor Government has committed to more than $1.7 million for important school-led projects across Western Australia to build a better future for local school kids.

The investments will deliver building upgrades, modern learning equipment and more support for students at public, independent and Catholic schools right across metropolitan and regional Western Australia, from the Pilbara and Albany to Perth.

At Port Kennedy Primary School, Labor has pledged $20,000 for new ICT equipment. The equipment will support digital learning, so children can keep up with new technologies.

An Albanese Labor Government will also deliver $20,000 for a new outdoor playground at St Vincent’s School in Parmelia. As one of the oldest schools in the electorate, St Vincent’s School is well overdue new play equipment.

Comments attributed to Shadow Education Minister Tanya Plibersek:

“A good learning environment is absolutely critical for our kids’ education, and that’s what Labor’s Schools Upgrade Fund will deliver.”

“These commitments build on Labor’s other plans for education including up to 20,000 extra

university places, 465,000 fee-free TAFE places, and making early learning cheaper for working families.”

Comments attributed to Member for Brand Madeleine King:

"Schools like Port Kennedy Primary School and St Vincent’s School do a great job in educating the next generation of Brand residents, and Labor is committed to making a difference to their students.”

"The suburbs of Rockingham and Kwinana have received so little from Scott Morrison, and the Liberals have neglected the basic funding support that means so much for students’ day-to-day school life.”

“I am proud to have secured these commitments to support our local schools and local students. Labor won’t leave any community behind or hold any community back from reaching its potential.”

"Only Labor will stand up for WA."
