BRAND RESIDENTS TO HEAR FROM EXPERT ON GUT BACTERIA

The second lecture in the Brand Community Lecture Series will be given on November 5 by the Premier’s Research Fellow, Professor Elaine Holmes.

The second lecture in the Brand Community Lecture Series will be given on November 5 by the Premier’s Research Fellow, Professor Elaine Holmes.

The lecture, entitled “Of Microbes, Mice and Men”, will see Professor Holmes explore the topical subject of the importance of gut bacteria in health and disease.

Professor Holmes is a distinguished computational biologist researching maternal and infant health, liver and gastrointestinal disease, diabetes and dementia at the Murdoch University-led Australian National Phenome Centre.

The Brand Community Lecture Series offers free community lectures to local residents with the aim of encouraging education and conversation.

The lecture will be held at Murdoch University’s Rockingham Campus at 6pm on Thursday, November 5.
