The Cook and Albanese Labor Governments are supporting a two-stage development that will deliver 26 new social housing dwellings in Kwinana.

St Patrick's Community Support Centre (St Pat's) received $6,722,000 in Cook Labor Government grant funding along with a commitment of $3,792,000 from the Housing Australia Future Fund.

Once completed, the development will deliver a range of one, two, and three-bedroom units, accommodating a diverse range of households, including families with children and older women with a focus on accessibility and flexibility.

The development will incorporate energy-efficient design features to improve comfort and reduce ongoing energy costs for tenants, including insulation, double glazing, and solar panels.

Located in the Kwinana Town Centre, the development is close to shops, schools, medical and health services, parks, recreation facilities, the library, and public transport.

St Pat's is a registered Community Housing Provider and not-for-profit organisation supporting people experiencing homelessness.

G Living has been appointed as the builder for both stages of the development.

Construction of Stage 1 is underway and is expected to be completed in early 2027, with Stage 2 expected to commence in mid-2026.

The Cook Labor Government is investing $10.8 billion in housing and homelessness measures since 2021 to ensure every Western Australian has a home.

Comments attributed to the Premier Roger Cook:

"My government's priority is ensuring every Western Australian has a home and this new development is another example of that."

"We are working with the Albanese Labor Government to bring more affordable and social homes to market and provide assistance to those who need it most.

"This project in Kwinana will be a welcome boost to the supply of affordable housing for older Australians, women, families, and children who are at risk of being without a home."

"The Albanese Government is delighted to deliver support for this project in Kwinana, and to the wider community, through the $3.79 million commitment from the $10 billion Housing Australia Future Fund.

"I congratulate St Pats on the project and look forward to welcoming the first residents to this development early next year."
