When I was speaking in this debate in December, I was reflecting on the contributions and speeches of the new members of the parliamentary Labor Party after the 2022 election, so I resume by welcoming the new member for Spence, Matt Burnell, to the parliament

I rise today to celebrate and recognise the life of an Australian icon, Dame Olivia Newton-John, AC, DBE. Born in England in September 1948, Olivia Newton-John moved to Melbourne when she was five and made Australia her home.

I rise today to pay tribute to Judith Durham and to extend my deepest sympathies to her family and loved ones. Born in July 1943, she was lost to the nation on 5 August this year.

Well, it's been a big month of sport in my electorate of Brand, particularly for the Rockingham Rams Football and Netball Club.

Only Labor has a clear plan to diversify both the products Australia exports and the nations we export to. An Albanese Labor Government will reconnect Australia to its region, and do the work needed to get our trading relationships back on track.

I join with many others in this place, and in the other place, to speak on the motion of condolence on the death of Senator Kimberley Kitching. I first met Kimberley when she arrived in this building as a senator of the parliament in 2016.
