CHRISTMAS SPIRIT SHINES THROUGH STORMY NIGHT

18 December 2017

Unseasonal heavy rains and storms could not dampen the Kwinana Christmas spirit last night as local residents came out in force to celebrate the annual community Christmas carols.

Hosted by local Federal Member of Parliament, Madeleine King MP, and Member for Kwinana, Roger Cook MLA, the carols were a huge success featuring crowd favourite John Logan on guitar and vocals and newcomer Ellen Shenfield singing.

This year the wonderfully talented Calista Primary School Choir was joined by the WASO Crescendo Choir from Medina Primary School and North Parmelia Primary School with the children wowing the crowd with their singing and performing.

Santa Claus found his way to the Darius Wells library, where the carols were rescheduled because of the bad weather, and found a crowd of 250 people having fun singing along to new and old carols.

“While the rest of Perth cancelled their events last night Kwinana showed true Christmas spirit and cheer, braving the weather to make sure their community carols went ahead,” Ms King said.
