REMEMBRANCE DAY

11 November 2016

Remembrance Day is a time to remember and reflect on all of those men and women who have served and sacrificed their lives for our country.

Today, Madeleine King MP will attend the City of Rockingham RSL Sub Branch commemoration ceremony being held at the Rockingham Cenotaph.

Every town in Australia has its own story and its own personal connection to the terrible conflicts of war, and today we honour and renew that personal connection.

As we continue to commemorate the Centenary of Anzac, I would also like to recognise the significant anniversary of 100 years since the Battle of Pozieres and Fromelles.

This year we also recognise 50 years since the Vietnam War’s Battle of Long Tan.

Today, we pay tribute to all those who have served and sacrificed their lives, especially those who currently serve our nation.

Reflecting on these conflicts we are reminded of the impacts of war - the depth of our gratitude remains unchanged.
