CHIEF ENGINEER CONCEDES MALCOLM TURNBULL’S SECOND-RATE NBN ALREADY NEEDS UPGRADING

19 July 2017

According to recent reports, NBN has conceded it has already started planning upgrades to the network after its completion date, finally admitting the current network will not be able to meet the needs of Australians into the future.

This admission by the Chief NBN Engineer is a clear indictment of Malcolm Turnbull’s second-rate rollout, which is connecting households and businesses on 19th century copper infrastructure.

“The copper infrastructure the Liberal Government insisted on using for the NBN is just not good enough and is not the best outcome for local communities,” Ms King said.

“Businesses and residents need better internet infrastructure with many local communities waiting on the NBN to solve the poor or non-existent internet access.

“But Malcolm Turnbull has now turned Australia’s biggest digital infrastructure project into a digital nightmare, with billions of taxpayer dollars being wasted on second-rate copper that already needs upgrading.

“Thanks to Malcolm Turnbull, Australians are being lumped with a meagre 19th century NBN which is simply unfit for purpose into the future.”
